I NEED to change out #7 Glow Plug at rear on passenger side of my 7.3l and needless to say, it is pretty much inaccessible. Obvious choice would be to remove turbo (last choice) OR, cut (using a Dremel tool) and bend stainless steel deflector plate to gain access,

then bend it back. Would appreciate any hints, tips, suggestions, solutions etc.

Factory or aftermarket? I do not recall a shield on mine when I did them last fall. Was not real easy to get to however it was do able. Mine is a factory set up though.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing year '93 as it's marked "ATS" turbo and not "Ford". It's my understanding that this is the year Ford agreed with ATS for it's sales even though "Ford labeled" turbos were actually ATS turbos. Shield is held down with head bolt - not ready to touch that. Could remove upper part of turbo but that still won't give me access to "below shield" and not enough height between top of glow plug and shield to lift gp out.
