Hey all,

Made in Canada hey? Didn’t expect that
I think all crew cabs were made in Canada. Both mine and my old man's were made in Canada too.

I mostly wanted to document this because I spent a good hour the other night trying to find a photo of a factory dually bed with the fenders off, and couldn't find one, just a bunch of ads for conversion fenders for a non dually bed.

Still working on cleaning the axle up, the side that had a wheel seal leak.. So much caked on mud and gear oil mixed together... I literally spent two hours on just the backing plate removed from the wheel end cleaning it. Makes me appreciate the parts washers at work more.

There were definitely USA-made crewcabs. 25 years ago I worked at a shop that did a lot of salvage rebuilds on 90-97 F350's - many were crewcabs. When the VIN started with 1 (USA) it meant they had an easier time selling it - American customers didn't have to pay import tax to bring it home.

I have seen some 2WD crew cab bricknose trucks made in USA, but all that I have seen of the 4WD crew cab trucks were made in Canada…

Many USDM F-Super Duty trucks were made in Canada, and many crew cabs.

My F-Super is not USDM however, it was made in Canada for Canada…

I have worked on a few rv's that were Canada spec with Speedo's in km/h, definitely throws me off during road tests.

All the 4x4 crew cab trucks where not dual rear wheel correct? That is, 1998-down.

My understanding is that you couldn’t get a 4WD CCLB dually in the USA, it was either dually or 4WD, not both, but I have seen two Canadian market trucks of that configuration whose door tags would suggest that they were a thing, at least up there… one I seen was even a 7.3 IDI…

Same in Canada - crew/4x4/DRW did not exist from ford.

That is a configuration the shop I worked at would build sometimes. Also supercab/4x4/DRW.

Centurion (and perhaps others) did them too.

For the sake of learning, which models and from where did the Dana 60 dually come in? Standard cab, extended only? Curious as to why they never made a dually 4x4 in a crew cab in this era. Seems like the cities are littered with newer models in this configuration that are pavement princesses

Dually-hubbed 60 fronts came in std cabs only.

What I know of the f250/350 pickup (OBS) frames, they are all the same channel size. Only the wheelbase changes. I wonder how much weight 4wd adds overall. This may have been a limiting factor on GVWR. The C&C trucks had a different, stronger frame. The 99+ superduty frames are definitely more stout than the OBS pickups.

Fwiw, Chevy used a heavier frame on a 1ton pickup (73-87/91) and also made a crew/4x4/dually.

So far, the only dually trucks you could get with 4x4 that we commonly know of were cab and chassis trucks. These are not pickup trucks. So no pickup trucks with dually and 4x4. Only cab and chassis dually 4x4 trucks, and a pickup bed will not bolt to them.

Well back at it again. Found some hubs on fleabay, but I'm scratching my head about one of these hubs that has a little damage on it.

Someone remind me, is where it is drilled here part of the sealing surface for the locking hub cover?

To answer my own question... I forgot I had the stock hubs in a box, so I test fit them.

Yes the sealing surface is drilled :frustrate
