used a drill to make the holes.
Another idea for hole-making is empty brass cases...

.22 and .223=5mm
.243=6mm and 1/4"
.280=7mm
.308 and .303=5/16"
.323=8mm
.44=7/16
Ma Deuce=1/2"

just in case you have some of that laying around and need to make a few gasket holes...

Just my .22...uh...I mean .02...

Replaced the water pump, thermostat, and v belts and no more leaking! I found this guys video very helpful just in case anyone reads through this and needs to swap the water pump:

For Thermostat it's pretty straightforward anyways but if you need help this is good: https://www.nickpisca.com/diesel/engine/6-9-7-3-idi-thermostat-replacement/

Smart idea on the plate glass, didn't read that before doing the job but I used permatex on both sides of the gasket so I hope that works.

I was re-tightening the v belts this morning after driving a little figuring things might stretch out and the power steering was making an odd noise sometimes. Of course the belt was a little loose so I tightened everything up but noticed that the new belts are wider than the old belts and the A/C belt rubs on the power steering belt. Whats up with that?? The A/C doesn't work anyways so I kind of just want to remove the belt but I'm assuming that will screw something else up. Is that true?

Removed the AC belt last week without any problems. Was just looking at Josh Bear's thread about compression testing and saw the ac belt was removed on that engine too haha

My truck had the compressor removed when I got it and I'm now in the process of putting ac back in. It doesn't care if that belt is missing.
