So what did you do with your truck today?

I started getting the heads on. I was surprised nobody saw my error on the cooling mod for the block. I got a little over zealous and pulled all 4 plugs on each side. Oops.

Goes to show, finish reading the whole thread Anyway I order a set and replace the one removed and started installing and assembling the heads

Then I hit a bump in the road. I had ordered head bolts and Mahle bolts are one box for each head. Took the first set out of the shipping box, did the first side. Installed the new pushrods and rockers. Things went great. Got into the shipping box pulled out the packing that was between the two head Bolt boxes. Aaannd pull out the second set. That box look like 5 miles of bad road. Had a sticker on it from a different car parts company but the correct part on the tag and at least half a roll of clear packing tape holding the box carcus together. I cut it open and inside there were 10 huge deadbolt for some other application. Well took them to the local store and they ordered them again to exchange but it has taken 4 days but they finally showed up on the last truck today. I have them so I can start on the second in the morning.
I did find this torque instructions kind of funny after you get the fifth bolt I think you need two torque wrenches for the double 7's

This started out Friday night and ended last night. I decided to get into a new area of recreation so I went to Parker, CO to buy a snowmobile. I got back to town last night around 7:30 after A LOT of misadventure, but didn't go home. I made the mistake of stopping to show it to some friends and didn't get home until about 12:15 this morning. Now I finally felt like making this post. It's a 2000 Polaris RMK800 which is WAY too much machine for Kansas, but if I'm going to do it, I'm going big. It still needs some work before it's ready to ride, but most of it's just normal snowmobile stuff anyway. The picture is dark, but it was about 7:00 this morning and cloudy.

All I got done was installing the blower. The existing one that I removed didn't have any sort of gasket material. I figured, what could it hurt? So I put some adhesive foam around the mating edges and bolted it in place. The screws are long enough to accommodate. It'll at least keep sand from finding its way into the housing.

Why do you hate money so much
Seriously though, my old runnin buddies and I got into PWCs when we had places down at lake of the ozarks. A couple of them had 2 stroke yamahas that would run in the 80's by gps. I had a sea-doo RXP 4 stroke that I had done a Riva stage 2 on and some other mods that I could get 75 mph on gps consistently. That little watercraft would pull so hard out of the hole it was hard to hang on. All that to say, those motor in those and like what are in your snowmobile are a ton of fun to mod. Have fun. Put a helmet on that melon lol

A friend told me to run because it's a money succubus. I said that I'm not married, so why not have another kind?
Another reason is that I'm not going to be around forever so why not have fun?

Except for the few times I might ride for 2 or 3 blocks, or when I spray my yard, I always wear one. No matter what time of year. I've had enough tree branches hit my helmets and have felt a helmet dragging across the ground enough times to KNOW that they work!

When mine maintains 45 up a hill, I give it a pat and tell it it's a good boy

4.10s na with a quarter million miles on engine and probably IP, I take what I can get and I'm grateful
4.10 NA never failed me yet.

Looking around to fix vacuum leaks and an old 1.9 tdi glow plug laying around was the only thing that’d readily fit into this open line. It’s only “temporary”

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make things work. I usually just use electrical tape over the open vacuum line with a wrap of tape around it to keep it from falling off untill I can do a correct fix.

Went and picked up my dually axle. Has evidence of a wheel seal leak already, so ordered all brakes and wheel seals for it. I'll be doing those when I get home from work this evening.
I also decided to buy that truck bed, it was in immaculate shape for a 1987. Completely straight.

I took the turbo apart today. It kinda sucks. Has been ingesting some oil in its past. May need a new spool
