Swapping out a E4OD to SZF5-42. The donor was a '90 F350 XL crew long bed, receiving rig a C350 XLT Lariat crew short bed.
Apparently the crossmembers are not the same.
The flat one came from the donor and the ZF mounted up perfectly with the member turned around with the 90° on the driver side.
The problem I've discovered is the gusset from the C350 has an angled base that bolts to the member, and the F350 member is flat.
I do not have the gusset from the F350.
Wondering if anyone has heated the angled gusset, bent to a 90°, and installed for a zf swap.
Here's a couple pictures for a visual.

I think I would cut it so there was not much left, bend it so it would fit, and then take it out and weld it. That is going to take a lot of heat in the right places to just bend it without any cuts.

Forgive my ignorance here, but what is a C350?

I believe it's the centurion version of what is now the excursion. The four door bronco on an F350 chassis.

Same here, good you were man enough to ask. :thanks:
I thought maybe a Chevy :dunno

Here's a picture from 2010 with it hooked to my 27' cabin cruiser.
Had a engine fire in 2011 and it's sat collecting mold until November '23.
Found a donor with a fresh 7.3 and ZF542.
It had a E4OD.
Am in the final home run to fire up.
Details, details...

Honestly I have only seen that style crossmember in the 99 up superduty trucks.

$20 fix.
Not perfect, have to drill new rail mount holes, but will do the job for ta mild performance build.
If I ever need more power I'll probably drop a PS DIT in.
But that's a story for another time.
