Wiring harness connectors not connected to anything

I was tracing wiring that a p.o. had done for a trailer brake controller and while I was under the hood, next to the fuse box I noticed some connectors coming off the wiring harness that weren't connected to anything. They weren't secured against anything. Any ideas what these could be for?

Last photo is the obd1 diag port, the single gray connector is part of it.

The first one looks like the OEM brake controller wiring.

I didn't know that, obd1 was before my time.

then that's probably what it is, there is another connector running along the firewall, next to the wiper motor that looks like it might fit. the brake controller and trailer plug wiring has been *****'d by previous owners.

No, but wouldn't the plug for that be near the passenger side, near the fuel filter?

No it's buried near the brake booster and fender drivers side at least my 1987 is.
