Hello All,
Doing some work to my ole girl 1996 F350 CCLB 4x4 Dually, 300K miles and it developed some leaks. Decided to clean it up and fix it all. Intake plenums were going so I replaced with Riff Raff billet ones. Those seemed to seal up well. My turbo was leaking as well, couldn't tell if it was the pedestal o-rings themselves or the back pressure valve. Decided to opt for a deleted unit and bought an aftermarket one. This might have been a mistake. The pedestal arrived with a couple scratches on the small ring surface. Should also note the pedestal to block torque I've been using is 18 lbft.
My question, Do you all thing this would cause a leak? It is clearly leaking don't know exactly why. The vendor says other units have the same marks with no call backs but I say BS! Also note the impression of the small O-ring and it looks to be misaligned. What are your thoughts? Thinking of forking up the cash for the Garrett pedestal. Ive had the current one off twice with new O-rings and no luck.
