I get about the same fuel economy, thats why now I go for power with sustained reliability. My biggest problem is now keeping er cool. Long grades under load it heat soaks bad, but new thermostat seems to help cool er down faster now.

I put a junior on the 88 with a non gated banks.
I could melt the hood at will.
Brought new meaning to
"Drive by the pyro"
I'm probably gonna be doing an i.c.
Something Justin said is tune it @15# of boost, whereas the more air the cooler egt's are..

So b4 I start searchin the database, where's the turbo to valley pan grommet I need to replace/ look at for water intrusion into the eng.???

In front of the stupidest location of the glow plug controller ( back of intake under the cowl)
Directly under the snail?
Looks like a 3/4" pipe?

Yes. If you have the turbo installed, it goes around the oil drain.

Man oh man... Even stuffing my fone in places not seen daylight in 20 years to take pics, could I see enough to be of help. I guess it will stay a mystery till the Garrett s h i t z the bed and I go in DEEP.
What 1/2" section of it I could see looked solid.
I gotta clean the sweaty grunge off before the add takes over.
