Its probably the little spring plate broke off in the hinge. Mine broke off too, unsure how to fix without replacing hinge.

Passenger side likes to do this on my service truck, the hinge plate with the roller is a little bent, so that seems to be the common thing among us with ‘automatic doors’ :rotflmao

LMC has them for $4.95. Dorman has a replacement spring too.
That's gotta be one of the most annoying $5 repair jobs ever. My driver's door same story, but I'm not sure I'm dedicated enough to fix it. Super annoying when I'm loading 3 of my kiddos + stuff into the back seat though...

It is a flat spring plate that is riveted on,
with one hole for a door bolt to go through.
There is no easy way to repair it, unless the
Hinge is removed.
But to do that, the fender really needs to be
removed for access to the top Hinge.

I was replacing the door Hinge Pins a couple
years back, and thought I would just remove
the Hinge. Good luck with that.

Note: Dorman Hinge Pin repair is junk. The
bronze Bushings are cast metal and will break.

That's a fact!

removed for access to the top Hinge.
I removed the door and was able to remove the upper and lower hinges easy enough. The real frustration began when I put the door on and off about 10-15 times before I managed to get it hung correctly. I swore that if I ever had to replace hinges again that I'd remove the fender to hopefully make things easier.
