Was told when I went and looked at it that it started knocking and lost oil pressure. So I when I was looking it over I gave it the crank wiggle, very distinctive clunking. So in my head I was thinking spun bearing or a rod cap came loose.
Pulled it in the shop this afternoon and dropped the oil pan down to see if I could see anything.
There wasn't anything obvious I could see. Got my youngest step son to wiggle crank pulley while holding my hand on each pair of rods, still nothing I could find wrong.
So at this point I'm kinda thinking well maybe the torque converter or flex plate is loose so I stick my hand in the starter hole expecting to find out that I dropped the pan for nothing, still nothing.
Crawl back and forth around the jack stands several more times trying to figure out WTH I was missing, notice the timing chain has a good amount of slack but decided it couldn't possibly make that kind of a clunk.
Finally got in just the right position and noticed something about the rear counter weight on crank seemed to act weird in relation to the rest of the crank.
Seems the crank is snapped in the 4-8 journal. So much for an easy fix. I will post pictures of the crank after I get the engine out and stripped.
