@GOOSE what dates are you coming?
How long do they give us to each get to the top? Haha
I have seen the iconic bumper stickers "This car climbed Mount Washington", but I was not too familiar with the details.
I figured it was steep, and I have my doubts if I could get up the hill without the transmission having heat stroke.
So I was looking at the specifics for the drive.
The highlights for those who are not familiar:
Average grade of 12%, extended sections of 18%, and the last 100 yards are 22%.
The road is currently open to the tree line (alt. 4200 feet) which is a 4.5 mile drive. (so no 22% finale)
There are no guardrails.
Regarding what is allowed.. You can read all the restrictions here:
https://mt-washington.com/drive-yourself/auto-road-vehicle-restrictions
Some notable ones:
DUALIES are NOT allowed,
max width including mirrors: 88 inches
No pickups with permanent additions that extend wider than the cab (campers, rack bodies, or very wide mirrors).
So now I know... It's steep and narrow.
Sounds like a good time! Wish I could be there!I have seen the iconic bumper stickers "This car climbed Mount Washington", but I was not too familiar with the details.

So just curious is anyone interested in convoying up Saturday? I'll be coming from near Harrisburg, PA. I am planning to stay out of New York city, lol!
