I’m going to do some research and see what looks normal, so I can compare & see how the cylinders move when the clutch is pressed in, does the slave push the arm here (check attached photo where circled) and this did engages the clutch?
1985 F250 XLT Lariat 6.9 IDI 4 Speed T-19 OD w/ ATS Turbo
Ok yes I will take a pic as well and post when I am there next, I wish I had a working assembly and could see what it should look like. I’ve never really looked down there when pushing in the clutch when working properly.
The master...
Thank you for the picture, yea I’m thinking of internal components in the bell housing, but this makes more sense for sure & how the pedals are resisting me foot/hand
I am going to take a good look at these spots and see if something isn’t opening up/moving correctly when I’m there next.
I was able to get it down to my farmer friends home he’s got a shop and tools so it’s the ideal spot. No longer at the golf course so that’s good!
I know replacing the clutch does come with dropping the trans & unlocking the drive shaft. Is this a fairly simple task on these T-19’s or is it...
When you say firewall is this what you are referring to, I am learning more, but not very familiar with the typical problems that people have found over time.
Also: Cross shaft linkage being cooked, does this mean definitely a full new clutch kit?
Parked it over night here, and left a note on the window..
I am going to push it backwards and see if I can float it into second gear to get it a mile up the road where a farmer friend lives.
Check out the video that’s uploaded and tell me what you guys think, I am pressing the clutch in as...
I did figure it out, the cheap ass fSS bent, I bought a new FSS and replaced it with the old one.
Got a new problem now with the clutch not engaging at all lol, made a post about it just now ;(
Can’t wait to drive this truck with no/small problems. Working out kinks right now!
Today drove my 1985 6.9 4 speed with OD to the golf course. When I was in the parking lot it felt like it didn’t want to find a gear and thought it was just me, but now I’m certain because the clutch won’t engage for me to put the truck into any gear!
Any thoughts on this? The pedal seems like...
Same problem here Mx but I think it’s my IP ;(
Changed my fuel shut off solenoid inside the top cover on the IP and put it back together & now I have this exact problem.
I do see a little fuel where the screws are and bolts so I need to tighten them and see what happens, but my IP could be...
Took off the IP head to double check, tested the FSS before I put it back on and yes indeed it does work. I put it back on and crank it up, go to turn it off and yes it works, not sure what happened! I go to take her on a spin and I have maybe 10% power. I floor it and it just doesn’t want to...
Replaced my FSS and it still doesn’t want to shut down, it is not running away or rapidly gaining rpm.. just idles, what’s funny is I actually put the new FSS and everything back together and forgot to plug in the FSS and turned it over and it still ran..
I know this new FSS works did I install...
I will soak it in ATF for a while and turn her back on and see what happens and report back.
Did this to fix the truck from shutting down, haha now doing this to fix it from staying running lol!
Engine wont shut down, idled for 30+ minutes with key turned in the off position.
Had a problem with the IP sticking and would shut off randomly when driving switching gears. Fuel was a little old when PO sold it. Used Diesel Klean in a new filter to break up some gummy fuel in the IP
Been...
Yea I ran her about 100 miles today and also dropped the rear tank earlier.
She’s running actually really nicely, I’m certain something got gummed up and finally broke loose. I do think it’s a good idea to keep some diesel Klean in the fuel for a while, maybe next 5-6 fill ups.
I didn’t know...
Very nice, good to hear thank you.
I may not need a new pump after all..
Update: Left Diesel Klean in a new fuel filter soaking the IP (60% Additive 40% fuel) all afternoon yesterday until 10am today, also gave a nice oil change. Went to turn the key and she turned over so nicely, 0 struggle...
Yea that makes sense, I think tomorrow I’m going to drop the rear tank and run a new line, I also am looking at picking up a new IP and want to check options before I lose hope on mine.
Anyone have any good feedback on where to purchase a new IP, pricing is kind of all over the place & with...
There are two tanks, but one is cruddy and needs to be cleaned realllllyyy nicely or replaced.
That’s what the PO said. Only the front tank has been ran since I had it so far (clean tank).
I have a half quart of ATF in the tank, and just filled up right before this happened.
I filled with diesel, then noticed my sensor for the tank was reading E with a full tank, started driving it back to my farmer friends shop & she died a couple of times switching gears, when bump starting...
