Seems awful cheap for legit Motorcraft. What do you think? I wouldn't mind having a spare set or two at that price since I'm pretty sure I paid a bit more than double through the dealer ~8yrs ago.

Hard to say, usually the way I tell if they're genuine or fake is by how the terminal is crimped on. The ones in the photo are super smooth.

It seems a shame to me that we even have to have this kind of discussion...

Someone selling counterfeit parts should be outed, arrested, charged, and jailed....for life...

Ok...maybe not 'for life'...but you get the idea...there should be a punishment for this kind of fraud...a punishment severe enough that **** bags won't want to try it....

Isn't anyone bringing something like this to the attention of the proper authorities...?

Isn't there some kind of consumer advocate group willing to take up this issue and see it though..?

Just my .02...

P.S. On the reviews...they are only referring to the packaging, shipped promptly,...etc. I only looked a the first page of reviews but I smell horse ****...nothing on how they performed or how long they would last in service....

Thought I would throw in here. Quite a while back I did buy a set of them from that web site for cheap. I had not heard of the counterfeit ones at that point. Here is what I have and have figured out. Also what seems right and doesn't.

First they all have 6 panel crimps. Seems right

They are laser engraved BERU GERMANY. Seems right

They are very magnetic on the top part so everything so far seems legit. That seems right.

The only thing that say possible fake is the packaging.

I bought a set off EBay about a year ago. They were fake. My results were as DougBoy mentioned. All looked good other than no hole in the package. They drew only half the amps that a genuine one does so the controller would not work correctly. O'Reilly Auto Parts also sells genuine plugs so a second source for you to look at.

ihc1470 thanks for that info. I had not yet figured out if I would use them. Think I will consider it a $25 dollar lesson learned. I think the ones I took out before I rebuilt it were Diesel Logic? Those looked in good shape but I don't know the age of them. Think I will buy some motorcraft replacements from a reputable auto parts supplier

Just to throw it out there, there's browser extensions to help block fake reviews for online vendors. The six crimp is what I always look for. The photos don't show it so I would auto dismiss it.

I think that is one of the reasons Motorcraft went to the ZD29 to kind of get away from the counterfit plugs, at least for awhile. I paid about $12 a plug from O'Reilly and the local Ford dealer was asking $16 so not really that much difference.
