I've got to replace the rear main seal while my motor is out of the truck. It has an international 1816559 seal and a sleeve already on the crank.

1) Would a seal like this work with the sleeve already installed? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1837372&cc=1124468&pt=5604

2) If not above, the only kit I can find with a wear sleeve is from felpro. It doesn't show an install tool and I can't find what I believe the right tool is anywhere. Sleeve tool (from another thread) 16301 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1135955&cc=1124468&pt=5604

3) There are no more ford or international kits that I can find. If someone knows where to get one that would be preferable. Ford Full Kit f2tz6701a

It's hard to give info without knowing which sleeve the crank has. I'm assuming it's the thicker one if it's international. I'd read this and see if it answers your questions. Rock auto has a bunch of seals but they are different. When it says "OEM sleeve it means the thicker sleeve not the thin one from Felpro or others. If your sleeve is in good shape Rockauto has one.

If you keep that OEM sleeve the SKF #38649 is what you would replace it with. I was able to install mine carefully without needed a special tool. I knocked mine in from the back of the plate with a piece of wood. Use Ford Motorcraft gray silicone on outer edge of seal before install. I also did not need the plastic install sleeve. I was able to wiggle this on carefully. The thickness of this seal is thinner than the OEM seal so it doesn't sit as far out in the bore. It sits flush to the inside of the plate surface. This picture gives reference from the outside once installed. You can see the OEM sleeve and how far in it sits.

Alright I looked at the sleeve and it has discoloration but there is not a groove I can feel. It also appears to be roughly.030" inches thick. This engine was rebuilt by a shop ~10k miles ago. You think this is the thick one it looks like yours? It's definitely thicker than the speedy sleeve post in the other thread linked above.

No worries. Remember to get the gasket that goes with the plate to block or make a gasket with oil safe gasket paper. I usually use Permatex Spray-A-Gasket on both sides before install. Also, make sure to put silicone on the flywheel/flexplate bolts as they are drilled all the way through into the engine and will leak oil if you don't. Good luck!

JHolt55, the seal you posted from RA with paper gasket, buy it from O`Reilly`s for the same price w/o the shipping.
That is the seal I used.
They show 2 rear main seals as I remember, I did the rear seal last November.

The above link posted has info in it when I did mine.
