I have a 727 in my 72 D200 with a 318. I also have one in my 90ish Dodge with a 5.9 12V Cummins. One thing I noticed is my 72 gasser does not have an external cooler other than the one in the radiator. The one behind the Cummins has huge lines that runs to an external cooler. I get the one behind the Cummins gets hotter but I thought big lines like that hurts the fluid pressure. So, what other differences are there and how can the one behind the Cummins push that much fluid?
By the way, I know one will not bolt in where the other is. I am asking these questions because the 727 in my 72 gasser failed. Before I start buying parts to repair it I want to know what the one behind the Cummins has to enable it to handle that 5.9.
