I work at a shop that specializes in heating and cooling. I am getting tons of 07+ 6.7L Dodge trucks with defective fan clutches.
The fan clutch is supposed to spin fast enough to cool the condenser when idling. But they don't which burns up the compressor, plugging the orifice and condenser with compressor guts.
I bet 80% of the 6.7 trucks I get in the shop have a bad fan clutch. Is this common in other places? Are the fan clutches built this bad?
