Hello,
I have a 1989 K1500 305 (150,000) and the timing chain is shot! Did the old Deg test it had more than the timing tag has Degs! I have done old 305 and 350 gm. Never a newer gm(last one 1978 305) . Is there a trick to taking off the timing cover? Don't want to replace the oil pan gasket.. the old covers you could cut a little metal and glue and RTV loosen some pan bolts and get the cover back on. (pray it did not leak!) I looked at a image 1988 GM 350 cover looks like the old ones same bottom seal setup?? but can't find a image of a 1989 305 cover. Any help would be great! Thanks! Tom
