Hi Everyone, Im that idiot who thought buying a 93 Chevy 6.2 in a country where there are no GM cars was a great idea. Actually I still do These things are cool.
My van is a 1993 G30 Sportsvan (extended) with a a Quigley 4x4 conversion. Suspension and axles are raised and beefed up but the 6.2 seems to be stock. Its there i could use some help.
It ran like a champ when I got it but it sat for the winter and when i fired it up I had an injector leak.
Wile diagnosing that I ran out of diesel and now its a non-starter. Ive been reading through the forum posts on fuel-filter issues and I know what I need to do to bleed the air out. But heres the thing: The primary filter is no-where to be found! The secondary is where it should be but ive hunted high and low for the Wix box style primary (with bleed valves). Im beginning to suspect someones removed it. So far Ive checked:
1. engine bay
2. front frame rails both sides
3. frame rails behind tank
4. everywhere under the van
5. around the injector pump
Other than the secondary filter, the only other thing Ive found that might be a filter was under the van off the passenger frame rail about half way back. It was concealed behind a guard panel (see pic). This looks more like a very large fuel pump through. Does anyone recognise this ?
