That doesn’t sound right but I don’t run cold advance so I can’t say 100%. Cold advance is like 3 degrees. That won’t cause those symptoms unless you think there’s something downstream funny happening in the pump?
Do you know it’s clicking off or guessing it’s clicking off right when it happens?
there’s different style relays but all the same concept. You’re going to have highlighted red below the always hot from the battery. In the purple highlighted area you’ll have S and I. S is energized when you turn the key to start. It then allows the electricity to flow from Red to Orange below...
Chances are it’s the ignition switch, rod, etc along those lines in the column. It’s a bricknose thing. Jump the starter relay. If you don’t know how send pic of your solenoid.
“All stock IDI injectors pop the same pressure, they all have the same orifice diameter, the only difference in codes was minor changes to the pintle that didn't do anything.”
It’s a weekend job for the bulk items (column and pedal swap, trans, etc) and then the final fit and finish add some extra. Plan longer for your first time. Plan longer if your toolset and comfort with swapping drivetrain components is low. Another example is you need to be able to control the...
I would put an asterisk on the paperwork in @IDIBRONCO filing cabinet. You are correct that custom and modified pumps may require different inlet pressure. The R&D130 is 9 psi for example.
Hey, you’re asking about the inlet fitting right? it’s 5/16 ORB with 1/2-20 thread and then the other side of the fitting you choose whatever you want.
Im still on IP or lifter - if I recall you didn’t do any bottom end / rings on this engine right?
And you didn’t change anything else at the same time on the fuel system from when it was working before?
I have / had 4 R&D IPs and multiple sets of injectors zero issue though but the symptoms...
Also I know you’re beat and probably don’t want to touch it anymore but since you don’t have working tools to diagnose ATM I’d pull the valve covers and start it and make sure all your lifters are functioning correctly
White is unburned diesel and black is too much fuel not enough oxygen. I’d compression test it. Also i have Deja vu of talking about this same thing with mouse.
Everything is mocked up and integrated with the cars factory geometry. 7.3, C6, and my built 9” with 4.56/full spool, 31 spline.
This is the engine from when I bought the project Brutus truck. I assumed everything was good with it - it’s the first time I’ve tested turning the engine over by...
The person who bought this truck (not a wrencher/hobbyist) originally bought it as a toy because he wanted his first diesel. A week after his daily driver died and he has been driving this truck ever since. He just left me a voice message that he loved the truck and asked me what oil I...
I have a post somewhere on the forum on this, I did decently extensive testing on the hydro boost setups for these trucks swapping different steering gears, pumps, etc. The best performing pump which i now run on each of my trucks is the Edelman 6014R designed for the 99-03 F350. Bolts right on...
I like the idea of swapping a unique and locally accessible engine into the ford, but we are here for any idi questions as you take that approach first.
