Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

Oh good I'm not the only one... I'm pretty sure I had to burn mine out with a propane torch at least on one side, about a decade ago. Cause at some point I was gonna warp or scrape up the inside of the fitting so bad that it wouldn't seal after the surgery anyway! Worked well.

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Thank you sir! I've read a bunch of fast fill mod write-ups but never remembered what they did for the vent after using the roll-over valve. Will a differential vent keep the fuel from spilling out in a roll-over? Now that I know what it's called, I've seen them many times but don't know exactly...

    Cold timing advance problem

That should NOT be happening. What a very strange thing... my guess is IP, but you never want that to be the case with a brand new one. :backoff I know you know this, but the cold advance solenoid is separate from the high idle solenoid, so there are two different things happening at the same...

Hybrid factory turbo collector to Banks turbo, ideas please.

Sounds like you have the Banks up-pipes? That's a good start. @IDIoit makes a sweet up-pipe for the 093. Maybe he could sell you just the lower 2/3'rds of one and you weld the top adapter to it yourself? No matter what you do you're welding something, be it upper or upper and lower + bellows...

    Ac newb questions

I live in North Bend, WA, about 50 mins from Puyallup. I've never had working A/C in my pickup since I bought it(17ish years!) but someday I'll get around to it. When I do, yes the A/C on hot days will be nice. But besides it being for the poor kiddos in the car seats with low air flow, honestly...

    Oil feed line adapter

Yes that port is for the OEM oil pressure sender. It's useless as the dash gauge is just a dummy on/off switch, but that's what the port is for. I have that same setup on the factory Ford turbo kit I put on my 89. I highly suggest getting a real gauge and putting the sender down on the block in...

    3G alternator upgrade

Same here. Although @david85 has the 4-hole alt and I have the 2-hole like @Cubey , which is bigger.

    Leaking valve covers

Did you remember those wide triangle washers that spread the load at each bolt hole? If not, that'll do it. Also if over-tightened the washers will bow and you'll want to flip them over when you go to re-tighten them so they aren't squishing the covers funny. (or put in a vice/hammer to...

    12V power for accessories

Even better to fuse each individual circuit after they leave the buss bar. That's also how they do it from the factory so the maximum amount of circuit is protected, and has one place to find those fuses.

    Injection pump time

That's new AFAIK, he had an outfit in Oregon he sent them to for years and years. They did a great job, too, I'm running a stock reman from them and they even let me max out the fuel screw without affecting the warranty. As for RPM, Justin and Wes both sell high RPM versions the last I saw. If...

    Leaking valve covers

Only "secret" I found was having straight metal and re-tightening them after years of neglect. I don't know the spec but I remember it being in the inch-pound category, super light.

Same here, bolts were too short. DON'T FORGET THE BLUE THREADLOCKER! I've had *two* straps come lose on me over the years, each time because I'd forgotten the threadlocker. Doh.

Nice so the wrenching is just something you pickup up from family or something?

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

While I like your thinking, I didn't have a drill that stout. All my tools are Ryobi or impact drivers and I'm not subjecting those little green guys to a floor jack, lol! That's where a mag drill comes in! (But I don't have that either)

    THSIM9’s 1991 F250 Project

My setup is in my signature and I had a fuel inlet pressure gauge for the IP for a while to test it(Facet and later the OEM lift pump) Under WOT or close to it the Facet would drop to 0-1psi. The IP is rated for 5-6psi and below that does change the fuel timing. At 0 it's pretty jacked up...

"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Same thoughts here... I have the same brand of hitch though mine fits to the frame a bit differently. I had to replace the tank a while back and pissed myself off having to drop the hitch also. Thankfully it's just 6 bolts but it's just the weight and angle and everything is covered in diesel...

    Engine Running Cold

Good call on the actual boiling temp. That said, 195* is about where mine sits at cruising speeds on the freeway so it should definitely be open at least somewhat by then. Just cause I'm curious, what's your altitude?

    Yet another heads thread

It's not starving for fuel at idle and no-load throttle bump with your mechanical lift pump. Unless it's broken. Mine keeps up with my maxed stock pump to 14psi under load. And still isn't dropping off in pressure, so there's more left over. Probably not much more, but either way that's only...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

Wow I'm amazed that they delivered those on a normal UPS truck. And same thing that you could just walk in and return the old ones, I wouldn't have guessed that at all. Must be right at the upper limit. To send an average delivery driver out to wrestle 100lb cast iron is a little much... They...

    Yet another heads thread

Funny, Justin and Wes are usually in agreement on longevity and performance mods for these engines, but in the case of the coolant mod are miles apart. I wonder why, and where the truth lies. And I doubt that any old wives came up with the coolant mod idea! LOL

    Oil change for ZF-5 Transmission

+1 Redline MTL, been using it for many years. It's given my tired ZF-5 a lot of use for many more years than I thought it would have in her. It's definitely time for a rebuild, but this stuff is great!

Another good reason to stay out of Calif.

I've often wondered when/if this would become a thing. After all, diesel locomotives have been running that way since the 50's and even the 30's according to Google. So there's a ton of science behind it and you'd have nearly unlimited torque at low speeds, with way more efficiency from the...

Project Thread: 1986 F250 “Farm Truck #1” Build Thread

Yep just get a pyro and pay attention. Shouldn't take long to get used to it. The timing may be off a bit since it'll have more fuel at the same pedal travel but you might be able to dial that in by advancing or retarding the IP. I haven't heard of people doing it so I'm not sure, but in your...
