    I'm not sure to be honest. But they have 0 miles on them because it turned out he had 2 cracked heads. So we did the cummins swap instead of putting more money into the idi. I can ask him he lives 3 hours away from me so he tried fixing it on his own.

    Could have popped the seal off the injection pump drive shaft, or some. injectors stuck open when it sits overnight and bleeds off their pressure. My nephew has a 7.3idi with a brand new set of injectors and glow plugs in it. The injection pump is good. He is looking to sell the parts off of it...

    Yea and??? Like I said don't know how much boost in power he's looking for. Just as stock motors they hold up non turbo. Jeez. Thanks for the education though

    To the fellas using common rail cummins. If you are using an efi live tune with cps5 switching on the fly. The 30hp eco tune which is no additional fueling but typically a bit more timing like 6-12 degrees advance will cut down a lot on particulates when running wmo blends. Just my testing results.

    Yes I use a series of filters before the final one that are cheap to replace as well. It's the way to go.

    If you want it to last I would not do a turbo. I know guys get away with low boost on them but the internals aren't built for 30psi
