    Highboy Axle Swap

Update on the sterling swap. Only parts required are the Rough Stuff kit + a Moog 348 U-joint. I also ended up replacing most all of the brake components.

    Installing engine and trans together.

I've pulled two and installed one. Every occasion engine and trans were still bolted together, core support removed. One key piece of info, "remove the oil filter"! Oh, and no starter!

DRW to SRW Pros cons discussion

If it was originally a single rear (typical pick-up), the "dually conversion" must be simply a set of wheel spacers allowing the duals to not hit your frame. Converting back to single should be as simple as removing the spacers and installing normal wheels on the rear. My experience regarding...

So what did you do with your truck today?

@IDIoit sounds like you're the man! Do you have photos of your up pipe and price? Do you have a website?

So what did you do with your truck today?

Not certain if it was coincidence or not however just recently replaced injectors and within couple days two glow plugs died. Replaced them and so far so good. The "ticking" noise is still there. I know there's an exhaust leak in that goofy slip joint on the ATS turbo up pipe. Guess I'll...

What years f250 idi diesels had limited slip?

I have an 87 that's open and an 89 limited slip. (both idi diesel Sterling axles and both are 4.10). I can take a pic of the 89 tag if that will help. Currently installing it in a highboy so it's easy access right now.

    Highboy Axle Swap

No signs of previous repairs. Actually, the spindle portion where the bearing and race are located are still in place in the brake drum. Failure occurred between the race and backing plate. Truth is, I was not exaggerating when I said it has been overloaded many many times during the last 30...

    Highboy Axle Swap

Sterling swap kit from Rough Stuff is "beefy", however while it's not installed yet I have discovered the highboy blocks will require modifications.

    Go to reman injection pump

Classic Diesel Design advertises on this site. I recently purchased a set of his injectors and they work great. He also sells pumps.

    Highboy Axle Swap

There are wide variances in the configurations available utilizing the Sterling 10.25 - 10.5 rear and I should've listed what mine originated from. It was an 1989 F350 4x4 single cab diesel. One main difference with this rear vs say one from a powerstroke (other than the wheel bolt pattern) is...

    Highboy Axle Swap

Anyone ever do a Sterling axle swap on a Ford highboy? Unbelievably I actually broke the end off the original dana 60 rear {shouldn't say "unbelievably", because I've been abusing this rear for over 30 years, constantly overloading it), anyway net result it needs to be replaced. Looked around...

    Molded carpet

Stockinteriors.com I bought carpets and a headliner from them, "top notch stuff". You have to select options you want. I ordered higher grade carpet + jute and it was first class stuff.
