It looks like the new master cylinder has solved the problem . The Pedal no longer travels to the floor and the brakes grab nicely . Thanks for all your advise !
yes the rear cylinders were replaced by a shop back in November and I don’t see any leaks. I’m going to try and replace the master cylinder tomorrow and see how it goes .

it really varies with the temperature . I started it when it was 5 out and it blew white smoke for a long time , maybe 8 minutes or so . Today it was 35 and it blew white smoke for less then 2 minutes.
