I didn't think so, but I threw it in there just in case I was wrong. Il have to find that thread and watch that video. All my grounds still look good. Cleaned em again anyway. We don't really rust that bad in my area, but as I say that I remember my daughter's truck was having issues starting...- frankenwrench

I agree. And it verry well could be the hot side of things. Just curious as to why I'm having same issue with entire wiring harness and pcm swap. And I left no stock wire in the truck. All came from doner. And yet still had same issue. Been driving it the past few days since I got the new pedal...- frankenwrench

Anyone swap back to throttle cable?
I almost don't even care about the throttle weirdness/lag/ whatever people are calling it, anymore. Lol. Just want to not have to replace it all the time. The chain store part may be the culprit, something in the charging or wiring is causing them to fail, not sure which or of it is a combo...- frankenwrench

Quite literally just a dead pedal out of nowhere. Let off and hit it again, nothing still. Turn truck off and back on, still dead pedal. Unplug and plug back in, still nothing. Replace it, works for a week or a few months, then dead pedal again. Rinse, re-purchase, repeat. Did a zf5 swap just a...- frankenwrench

Yup throttle lag. Gale banks, sct, adrenaline, stealth, bullydog, throttle max, and many more make chips, obd2 plugs, and hardwire kits specifically for throttle lag for drive by wire on not just powerstrokes but for MANY diesels and gassers alike.- frankenwrench

Yes throttle lag. My 2016 6.7 has throttle lag, my 07 5.3 ls tahoe has throttle lag, my 97 ps has throttle lag. Can't argue facts. My 97 5.7 tahoe doesn't have throttle lag and neither does any of my 6.9 or 7.3 idi's have throttle lag and I'm up to 13 of those in my fleet alone. And you can...- frankenwrench

Powerstroke 2 IDI no Turbo conversion
What he said. I have 3 cranks for na and one spare crank for idit. 2 sets of na rods with wrist pins, 1 set of idit rods with wrist pins, and a brand new set of std idit pistons and brand new set of unopened rings on a shelf in my connex. Amongst MANY other spare parts for our idi's.- frankenwrench

No fear of drive by wire, it's just junk. Simple cable has worked forever, now replaced by 2 or more failure points followed by throttle lag and rely on a copper wire to transmit a signal easily chewed through by rodents. Not all truck owners live in the city. We can go back and fourth on that...- frankenwrench

Wasn't looking to be the one to reinvent the wheel here folks. Alot of kits to swap other drive by wire make and modles. Litterally just seeing if the 7.3 ps happened to fall into that category. I.e. someone else has already made kits to account for all pcm signals, throttle bodies, injector...- frankenwrench
